FAQS

keeping parents informed

Does my child need a fluoride treatment?

We typically suggest fluoride treatments during your child’s routine visits. This is because pediatric patients are particularly prone to decay and cavities due to diets high in sugar and improper oral hygiene. Fluoride treatments give you peace of mind that your child’s tooth enamel is strong and healthy. Ask about a fluoride treatment during your child’s next visit!

When should I bring my child to the dentist for the first time?

According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, children should start seeing a dentist at age 1 or when their first tooth erupts, whichever comes first. If you bring your little one to the dentist from a young age, we are able to track their oral development and address any issues before they become bigger problems. This also helps ensure that your child is comfortable with the process of a dental appointment from a young age and minimizes their chances of developing dental phobia later in life.

Why are routine dental appointments so important?

Coming into Willow Pediatric Dentistry twice a year helps ensure that your child has a carefree, healthy smile. Cavities form and progress quickly, so making a pediatric dental appointment twice per year will help our team catch these issues before they become bigger problems. Routine dental appointments will give you peace of mind and give your child a healthy, bright smile!
